To make slime look shiny, you will need dyes. Food coloring and liquid paints can be used.
Basic recipes
Let's look at some basic recipes for making a squishy toy at home.
Fairy with starch
For this recipe we need Fairy detergent and powdered starch. Stir the starch with water until it dissolves completely. Add a teaspoon of Fairy, mix well again until thickened. The mixture should be thick enough to form a slime. After the required consistency is reached, we take the slime in our hands and stretch it, knead it in our hands.
With toothpaste
You can make a toy using dish soap and toothpaste. Any paste is suitable, except for whitening, as it can cause allergies. Fruit jellies work well, because they have a pleasant smell and already have their own color, so you can do without dye.
Detergent, toothpaste and food coloring, or paint on a liquid base, are mixed together until the desired thickness and color are obtained. Adjust the thickness by adding toothpaste. Once the mixture is ready, put it in the fridge to harden a little.

The soda will react with the PVA glue and form a homogeneous mucus-like mass. The solution will be more difficult than in the previous method. If the mixture is sticky, add more baking soda. The finished slime prepared according to this recipe is elastic, easy to crush and stretch.

For the next method we need shampoo, sugar and detergent. Mix Fairy with shampoo in a one-to-one ratio, add three tablespoons of granulated sugar and put the mixture in the refrigerator. Add a little more sugar to keep the slime from getting too sticky.

This recipe will require dish detergent, powdered sugar and toothpaste. Mix all the ingredients together and place in the freezer for an hour to harden.
With your favorite hand care cream
For this recipe we need Fairy, hand cream, soda, a plastic cup and food coloring. Pour a tablespoon into a Faery plastic cup. Add a little baking soda and stir. Add the hand cream in an amount equal to the number of Fairies, and knead again.
Then we fill in the dye in sufficient quantity to obtain the brightness and color saturation of our future slime that we need. After all operations, pour the resulting mixture into a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator for four to five hours. The result is an elastic slime. If the consistency is not the same as you would like, next time try to reduce or, conversely, increase the amount of hand cream in the composition.
Liquid soap and glue
Slime can be created using ingredients such as liquid soap and PVA glue. We also need food coloring or paint to give the toy a bright color. Pour the glue into the container and add the dye to it, then stir until the mixture is evenly colored. Add liquid soap to the solution. Knead well until a homogeneous mass is formed.
To remove excess detergent, soak the resulting mixture for three minutes in clean water.
With salt
We do liquid soap slime and table salt... Mix three to four teaspoons of liquid soap with food coloring. Add a pinch of salt to the solution and mix well again. We put the slime in the refrigerator for ten minutes, so that it hardens a little and becomes dense. Then we take the mixture out of the refrigerator and mix again.
In this case, salt is not the main ingredient, but is used as a thickener. Don't overdo it with salt, because if you add too much, the slime will become too hard and rubber-like in shape and consistency.

If you're making slime with salt, it's best to work with gloves because if you have sores or cuts in open areas of your skin, the salt will pinch.
Depending on the components from which you make the toy, you may need to use protective aprons, gloves, sometimes even a breathing mask, since some components can cause an allergic reaction in the body. It will also help you avoid staining your skin and clothes with dye.
