Step-by-step instructions on how to make lacquer slime with your own hands
Slime - a popular anti-stress toy, which develops the fine motor skills of the hands. Most of the products that you can buy in the store have a chemical composition that negatively affects your health. Therefore, we have developed ways to create slime from improvised materials for the home. For example, you can find information on how to make lacquer slime at home, as well as a step-by-step manufacturing process.
Slime Features
Mud is a plastic and well-stretchable substance that belongs to the ne-Newtonian type of fluids. Depending on the speed of exposure, the sludge can acquire both a near-liquid form and accumulate into a mass. Lizunas, which are sold in stores, are made of guar gum and borax. They are chemicals, so they are not always safe for the baby.
You can not only buy multi-colored, transparent, magnetic and shiny slimes, but also make them at home with your own hands. Also, if desired, beads, aromatic oils, glitter or mother-of-pearl are added - this will make the slime unique.
How to do
Lizuna can be made with your own hands from the simplest materials.But it is important to observe the correct consistency, carefully monitor the amount of ingredients.
With sunflower oil
For cooking you need a container with very cold water (100 milliliters). The lacquer is sprayed on the water until a viscous state appears. After that, about 20 milliliters of refined sunflower oil are added. The mixture is thoroughly mixed until thickened.
With glue and sodium tetraborate
In order to obtain a dense and non-sticky slime, you will need:
- hair spray 200 ml;
- 100 ml PVA glue;
- sodium tetraborate - one pack.
Spray the hairspray from the bottle into a clean, clear container. PVA glue is added slowly in a trickle, while the composition must be thoroughly mixed, avoiding the appearance of lumps. The last ingredient is added after the composition is converted into a homogeneous mass. The mud is left for several hours. After that, you need to feed it in the standard way.
How to take care
The life of the slime depends on the quality of the maintenance of the slime.
Nutrition
The toy's food consists of salt and water. You can also give an eraser, but it is not necessary (it will restore the structure if the slime has dried). The diet of a standard slime is 1-5 pinches of salt. Placed at the bottom of a small container, covered with salt and water. Close tightly with a lid, shake and leave for 2-3 hours.
Little house
Slime should be kept in the house. To do this, use a colored jar, which is tightly closed with a lid. It is imperative to clean the container at least once a week.
Bath
Slime receives a bathtub. Place the toy on the bottom, wash it with a little warm water and hide it again in the house.
Place for the game
It is advisable to allocate a place for the game. In this case, the mud will not absorb dust and dirt, so it will last longer.
Place in the refrigerator
In order to bring order to the anti-stress, sometimes it needs to be placed in the refrigerator. Do not store near foods with strong odors, such as fish, cheese, because they will absorb their odors.
Tips & Tricks
Often the slime doesn't turn out the way you want it to. It either sticks to the hands, is very runny, or turns into a hard-to-crease lump of modeling clay in the hands. To prevent this from happening and for the anti-stress to be in the optimal form, it is necessary to correctly follow the order of immersion of the ingredients. The proportions may differ slightly depending on the quality of the products (a glue is thicker, etc.). You have to be guided by logic, sometimes you have to add more volume. It is worth paying attention to the tips:
- if the slime is too liquid and refuses to keep its shape, then you need to put the bowl with it on low heat and evaporate the excess liquid;
- if the product does not stretch, but simply breaks, it is worth adding more glue and carefully crushing the mass with your hands;
- if the mud is hard as a rock, you need to add a few drops of water and send it to a glass jar in a dark room - it will soften after absorbing moisture.
The product takes on foreign odors, so the problem of cleaning it is still relevant. You can simply hold the slime under running water for a few minutes, but this does not guarantee complete removal of the unpleasant odor. It is better to cover it with soda for a couple of hours and send it to rest in a dark room.After rinsing and drying, treat with aromatic tea tree oil. The toy does not accept hot temperatures, so it is forbidden to dry it with a hair dryer. They also don't use deodorants or perfumes - they will temporarily mask the aromas, but won't eliminate them completely.
Slime is cleaned with a damp foam sponge or school eraser.
