How to properly connect the hob with your own hands
Hooking up a hob is a more complicated process than installing a standard hob. Understanding how to connect the hob, you need to take into account a number of nuances. Otherwise, you may encounter improper operation or equipment malfunction.
Facility
It is best to install the panel following the instructions. To complete the procedure, you will need to prepare a set of tools and perform some step-by-step actions.
Tools
The cooktop installation procedure requires the use of a basic set of tools. The presence of devices is a prerequisite for installation.
Electric drill and jigsaw
The drill is used to drill a hole in the table top which will be the starting point for the cutout. With a fine-tooth jigsaw, cut out the space to place the plate and grind the cut point.
Screwdriver
Using a screwdriver, the panel is screwed from below.
Depending on the specific type of cooktop, a Phillips or flat head screwdriver may be required.
pliers
The need to use clamps arises when installing the bottom of the panel. The tool is used to tighten nuts and other fasteners.
Voltage indicator
A portable voltage indicator is a device used to verify the presence or absence of current. The pointer is equipped with a light element that activates when there is voltage in live parts.
sealing strip
Using self-adhesive sealing tape, process the cut on the countertop. A putty can be used as an analogue of the putty. For reliable protection of the countertop from temperature changes, it is recommended to install an additional aluminum tape.
220V socket
If you are not planning to run the cable directly into the panel, you will need to mount a separate outlet. Using a plug is the most suitable option for the daily use and maintenance of the hob. A standard 220 V socket is suitable for most models of equipment.
Installation of a kitchen wall
The kitchen wall is mounted before the panel is installed. First of all, you need to arrange the wall elements in permanent places, and then proceed to the choice of the location of the hob.
Correct determination of the installation opening
The dimensions of the installation opening are determined on the surface of the countertop. As a rule, the dimensions of the product are indicated in the manufacturer's instructions. In the absence of instructions, you will need to carefully measure the dimensions of the countertop and the tiles. For the convenience of further work, you can prepare a paper template according to the dimensions obtained and fix it on the table.
When performing calculations, you should leave a gap between the fittings of the body and the edges of the helmet of 1-2 mm.
Table layout
Markings on the table top are made taking into account the size of the panel.To mark, you need to use a tape measure and a simple pencil. Since most worktops are made from pressed sawdust, holes should not be marked closer than 50mm from the edges. Otherwise, thin parts of the worktop may collapse.
Drilling
With a drill, holes are carefully drilled at the corners of the marked area, without going beyond the boundaries. It is recommended to use an 8-10 mm drill bit. When performing work, it is necessary to install and hold in a fixed position perpendicular to the surface.
Jigsaw along the markup
A fine-toothed wooden nozzle is inserted into the jigsaw to prevent the board from chipping at the marked boundaries. After inserting a jigsaw into the hole, a cut is made along the indicated border, firmly pressing the tool against the surface. After the cut is complete, you need to check that the hob fits the seat and that there is a small gap.
Sealing treatment
It is recommended to protect the ends of the resulting cut from moisture, which is important in everyday kitchen work. For this, the edges of the seat are treated with silicone sealant. Above the sealant glue a sealant, which is often supplied with the equipment.

It is necessary to install the built-in stove step by step. Just follow these steps:
- insert the panel into the slot;
- press the surface until the edges adhere completely to the helmet;
- make sure the panel is flat on the lid.
Fasteners

Gas
The connection of this type of equipment to the gas distribution network and the performance of related work is carried out by employees of specialized organizations. It is against the law to install and connect a gas stove yourself. Incorrect connection, bypassing the established requirements, often leads to equipment failure. Gas connection specialists must observe the following rules:
- pre-check the characteristics of the equipment, in particular the type and pressure of the gas, the presence of earthing, the voltage level;
- use a flexible hose to connect to the main gas line;
- check the availability of access to the shut-off valve.
Electric
To plug in the electric type, just make sure there is voltage and insert the plug into the socket. It is important to ensure that the size of the wire is suitable for the electrical capacity. Otherwise, you will need to run a separate line to the equipment from the terminal block.
Induction
To connect an induction hob, you will need to purchase a three-core network cable that can handle the power of the equipment. On the underside of the induction panel there is a special box with terminals for connecting the wires. On the surface of the box or inside there are schematic symbols that indicate where to connect the wires.
Without kitchen unit
If it becomes necessary to temporarily install a hob without a kitchen set, you will need to build a frame from a square pipe. It is forbidden to use wooden blocks, since such a structure poses a fire hazard.
