Description and technical characteristics of KS glue, instructions for use
A variety of adhesives for mounting various materials during repair and construction allows the consumer to choose the best option. Now they choose KS - an easy-to-use glue that helps connect materials of different structures.

General description and purpose of the composition
KS glue is a viscous mass, the color of which depends on the added mineral. It can be white or yellowish, grayish. The main substance in the composition is sodium water glass. The substance began to be used in construction at the beginning of the 19th century. Produce liquid glass by fusing soda with quartz sand. The classic production method is to dissolve silicon in alkalis.
A characteristic of sodium water glass is that it:
- glues all materials;
- adheres well to minerals;
- not afraid of sudden temperature changes;
- precipitation resistant.
Water glass based adhesive is used to work with various surfaces. The composition gradually hardens and differs in strength after hardening. Natural stones and ceramic and glass tiles are glued together.
Installation of linoleum, parquet, glass block partitions is not complete without KS glue.
Specifications and properties of the various varieties
There are several brands of KS glue. All are used for interior and exterior renovation. Each type of product differs only in its general and inherent properties.
"Artel"
The main properties of the KS construction adhesive of the Artel brand are that it:
- heat and frost resistant;
- ecological;
- does not smell;
- elastic.
It is not for nothing that the Artel brand of glue is used for gluing the floor of block parquet, parquet, ceramic tiles and linoleum. Use a beige-brown mass for lining the exterior and interior walls of houses with natural and artificial stone. Suitable for coating stoves and fireplaces. The optimum air temperature during the period of repair using a pasty building agent should vary from 5 to 35 degrees above zero.Ready-made composition can be purchased in specialized stores with a volume of 9 kilograms.
"Optimistic"
This type of KS glue is more suitable for flooring. It holds jute, fabric and felt based linoleum well, while the glue joint will be strong. Use an adhesive mass to glue stoves and fireplaces. Glue can be used to seal seams, cracks. By adding the composition to cement mortars, the heat resistance of the building material is increased. The glue line reaches its maximum strength after 3 days. They offer a ready-to-use composition in 18 kg buckets.
KS-3 "Malva"
White moisture-resistant adhesive mass is considered ideal for laying parquet, linoleum of various types on the floor.The paste is easily applied to the surface and sets after 24 hours. Before use, the composition is thoroughly mixed and applied with a spatula to both glued surfaces. Then you need to roll it up with a roller. Excess paste coming out of the seams is immediately removed.
farvest
KS glue is heat resistant and suitable for gluing tiles. With the help of an adhesive mass, it is lined not only with the floor, walls, but also with stoves, fireplaces. Thanks to high-tech additives to liquid soda lime glass, the glue is used for surfaces inside the building, as well as outside. Withstands the composition of even large natural and artificial stones.
You need to prepare the finished solution yourself by diluting the dry mixture with water.
"Impulse"
The improved adhesive properties of the adhesive allow it to be widely used during renovation and construction. The pasty composition of the composition allows you to quickly and reliably glue surfaces of different structure.
You can stick tiles on slightly heated surfaces. The glue begins to harden after 25 minutes. Therefore, it is possible to correct incorrect masonry after coating the surfaces with a building compound. After all, the tool belongs to heat resistant. It is used to ennoble warm floors.
"Universal"
KS universal construction glue with mineral fillers is necessary when working on wall cladding, both indoors and outdoors. With it, you can easily and firmly glue the floor with tiles, linoleum, parquet. The adhesion strength does not depend on the presence of residues of old paint or other coating on the surfaces. The adhesive is resistant to alkaline solutions.Hence the use of funds for the repair of canteens, kitchens in children's institutions, hospitals and catering establishments.
The coating is firmly glued to fiberboard, chipboard, concrete and aerated concrete.Suitable for underfloor heating installation. The coating on stoves and fireplaces holds firmly if you use the universal KS. When laying stoves, sealing cracks, seams, it is an irreplaceable material. It can be added to the grout using a tile masonry material.
General rules and principles of use
The strength of the connection between the tile and the stove surface depends on:
- clean surfaces from dust and dirt;
- alignment of existing defects;
- thorough mixing of adhesive components;
- tight connection of surfaces after application of KS glue;
- until the product dries completely.
When laying stoves and fireplaces, the paste should be applied to both surfaces. After 3 hours, parts will connect and set completely after 72 hours. In general, 600-800 grams of glue are used for 1 square meter of surface. Installation of linoleum is carried out by first applying a thin layer, and after 10 minutes - a layer 10 millimeters thick. Smooth the coating with a roller, eliminating excess funds.
If the coating is made outside the house, then the air temperature for work is chosen at least 5 degrees Celsius. Properly apply the adhesive to the surface using a spatula. In this case, the thickness of the applied composition should be from 4 to 8 millimeters. It is best to have an intermittent bead of glue on the tile. Air jams will then not form.
If the surface is mineral wool, then the surface should be primed with a thin layer of KS glue glue. During the work and during the period of drying of the glue, it is necessary that there is no direct exposure to the sun, precipitation.
When working with KS glue, you should not forget to protect your hands. The alkali in the paste can corrode the skin if it gets there. If the substance has damaged the skin or mucous membranes, wash your hands with running water and soap. It is advisable to wear a work coat, gloves, glasses before repairing. Dangerous if glue gets into your eyes. Here you need to react quickly and rinse the mucous membranes of the eyes with clean water.
Advantages and disadvantages of the brand
High technical characteristics of the composition allow you to choose a brand among other manufacturers of building materials. The popularity of glue is related to its properties. After all, glue glue has:
- excellent adhesive properties;
- frost resistance;
- heat resistance, resistant to temperatures up to +400 degrees;
- aseptic action against pathogenic fungi and bacteria;
- ease of application, without requiring special skills in working with glue;
- a wide range of applications.
Disadvantages include the fact that KS plastic does not adhere well. At high humidity in the room, the bonding time will increase. This must be taken into account when lining walls, floors and ceilings in the bathroom, in the kitchen.
How to store it properly
The glue has a shelf life of six months. Store the paste in a tightly closed container. The adhesive should be protected from direct sunlight and precipitation.
Do not store pasta containers in places accessible to children.
The characteristics of the substance do not change if the containers with the agent are at temperatures below minus 25 degrees below zero. But a long stay in the cold will make the building material unusable. Before use, you need to thaw the glue mass, leaving it for a while in a room at room temperature. After applying the glue, the product residues are disposed of with household waste.
