How to make a bench out of matches with your own hands and instructions for making a bench

There are many options for making original patterns that can decorate the interior, and in some cases serve as a gift. These products include a bench made of matches. A minimum of materials are required to complete this craft. Moreover, even those who have never been involved in such work are able to create such a structure.

What is needed for the shop

To make a compact bench, you will need:

  • 17 games;
  • PVA glue;
  • clerical or ordinary knife.

Before starting work, it is recommended to cut the sulfur from the matches. The latter immediately ignites due to a slight spark, which makes the structure in the process of fire dangerous.

To create a bench, it is also recommended to take straight-sided matches. Thanks to this, the splinters do not remain in the design process of the bench.

In addition to PVA, Stolyar glue is used to fix the strips. This product has increased adhesion and hardens quickly. BluDue to this, the design becomes more reliable, and the manufacture of a bench takesless time.

Work instructions

To make a shop, you will need:

  1. Take 4 matches that will be used to make the crossbar, and 2 for the legs.
  2. Coat one side of each of the four rods with PVA glue and lay them equidistant from each other on the future legs.The latter must be positioned exactly at an angle of 90 degrees to the rungs.
  3. Flip the created structure on its back and glue 2 matches to the bottom bar and legs at an angle of 90 degrees.
  4. Glue two new matches on the new bars at the top (at the junction of these rods with the legs) and at the very edge of the last 2 new matches.
  5. Attach 2 vertical rods to the extreme bar glued in the previous step in order to obtain new legs.
  6. Put the resulting bench on its legs and glue the remaining matches to the upper crossbars so that you get a seating area.

Due to the fact that the finished structure is made of planed wood, it can be dangerous to hold such benches in the hands, since any clumsy movement will lead to slippage of the finger. In order to avoid such unpleasant consequences, it is recommended to grind the bench at the end of the described work.

different matches

This will require fine, fine-grit sandpaper. The latter must first be glued on a thin strip. Sand all surfaces, paying attention to the edges.

Additional beauties

For a more attractive appearance, the bench can be painted in an appropriate color. In addition, it is recommended to process the edges with paint of a different shade. Thanks to this, the product will acquire an original look.

A shop made of burnt sulfur matches will be no less original. To do this, the latter must be set on fire and immediately extinguished, without letting the flame spread further.

To make the bench memorable, you can replace the vertical legs with diagonally crossing slats. To do this, at the stage of manufacturing the bench, you need to cut off the part of the structure that falls below the seating position.Next, you need to cut the matches to the required length and, bending the last ones crosswise, glue them to the bench. You can also attach handles to the sides to decorate the finished product. The latter are carried out according to the algorithm previously described.
