"VS-10T"
The glue is made of special resins and organic solvents. The parts to be glued are first removed to the side until they are completely dry, then they are placed under the press. By its appearance "VS-10T" is a viscous homogeneous transparent liquid of a beige or brown tint. This glue does not contain water, which makes it stable, even in the event of direct contact with liquid. In addition, the composition is resistant to the most aggressive environments: sea water, liquids containing alcohol, acetone.
Once solidified, the solvent evaporates and the resin forms a high molecular weight substance with extremely strong joints, which is not sensitive to temperature and humidity.
VS-10T glue is specially designed for reliable fixing of materials in units operating at temperatures up to 300 ˚С. It can be used at low pressure. The adhesive is widely used for bonding brake linings to metal backing. The composition guarantees high adhesion strength.
Poxipol
High strength, all-purpose, two-component epoxy adhesive. Its main purpose is assembly and construction work, but the composition of "Poxipol" has proven itself in gluing and repairing various mechanisms. After working with it, a seam is formed on the surface. For this tool, he received a second name - "cold welding".
The glue is sold in packs of 2 tubes:
- in a tube marked "A" - resin;
- in the second, with the designation "B" - hardener.
The set also includes an instruction manual, a spatula, a plate. The resin has great flexibility, guarantees increased adhesion of the parts. The acceptable temperature for gluing is + 18 ... + 23 ˚С.
The disadvantages of the adhesive include:
- Poxipol is not suitable for working with polypropylene, polyethylene, Teflon;
- high product cost;
- before applying the composition, you must first prepare it, and then use it within 5-6 minutes.
Natural glue is sold only in specialized stores.
"ED-20" epoxy resin
Epoxy-diane resin is a high-quality reliable universal viscous liquid without mechanical impurities. Under the influence of a hardener, at normal room temperature + 20˚C, it turns into an infusible polymer.
Technical characteristics of the composition:
- shows resistance to moisture, mechanical damage, alkaline and acidic environments;
- the prepared mixture is used within 30-60 minutes;
- compared to acrylic resins, it is toxic;
- low elasticity - during movement on the surface covered with "ED-20", cracks may form;
- has anti-corrosion and dielectric properties;
- provides high durability under heavy loads.
In industry, it is used in its pure form. Without additional components of the composition "ED-20" in amber or orange color.

Materials and tools that will be needed to restore the brake pads:
- to remove the remnants of worn upholstery - a milling machine, but if this is not possible, you can arm yourself with a hammer and chisel;
- grinder, grinder;
- degreasing agent (gasoline, acetone);
- new overlays;
- adhesive, sponge or brush to apply it;
- hacksaw for cutting metal blanks;
- vise or clamp;
- Microwave or oven.
The overlays installation process consists of 7 critical points:
- Removal of worn brake linings. If it is not possible to ask car service workers for help, old rivets are knocked out on their own with a hammer and chisel. Blows alternately, carefully and well directed.
- Cleaning the surface of the shoe being repaired. During vehicle operation, rust and debris accumulate under the bead, which must be removed. The part is cleaned in one of the following ways:
- grinder;
- holding the block in a vice, the surface is processed with a grinder using discs or circles of petals with sandpaper;
- using sandpaper.In this case, the pickling process will be delayed.
- Wipe the treated surface with a soft, dry cloth then degrease. Gluing manipulations are carried out no earlier than 5-6 hours after the removal of fatty substances.
- With a sponge or brush, without sparing, apply the composition to the tampon and the shoe (it is recommended to carry out the procedure in one direction). There should be no glueless areas on the surfaces to be bonded. In this case, the temperature in the room should not be lower than +24 ˚С.
- After 1 hour, the procedure for applying the composition is repeated and maintained for another 60 minutes.
- With a sure movement, press the pieces to be glued together. You have to tighten them with 2 small pliers. Glue streaks are scraped off.
- The device is placed for 2 hours in an oven preheated to 180 ˚С. After cooling, the mechanism is ready to operate.
If there is no oven, the structure is set aside until the glue is completely dry, for at least 12 hours. The more time passes, the more reliably it will stick.

Strict adherence to the rules and techniques of gluing gives the desired result - the brake linings are firmly fixed. As many years of experience show, depending on the pad material, the vehicle speed reduction is very different:
- from dark pads made of hard material, the disc grinds and the braking process is more rigid;
