Technical characteristics and instructions for use of Dragon glue
Polymer glue is used for fixing various materials. This product, depending on its composition, is used for interior and exterior wall decoration, sealing joints and other works. However, the scope of application of the Dragon Universal Glue is not limited to the indicated directions. With this composition, most materials used in everyday life can be bonded.
General Description and Purpose of Dragon Universal Polymer Adhesive
Dragon is a versatile polymer-based adhesive used to bond the following materials:
- caissons;
- parquet board;
- expanded polystyrene;
- artificial leather;
- traffic jams;
- TREE;
- carpets and others.
The dragon dries quickly and is characterized by increased resistance to frost and water. Due to these properties, the glue has found wide application in finishing works, including for cladding exterior walls.
This composition is used for bonding materials to the following substrates:
- concrete;
- asbestos;
- cement-lime;
- plaster;
- plaster;
- brick.
Universal glue is used to strengthen the fastening of nails, screws and self-tapping screws. The dragon creates a durable, waterproof and transparent layer, and therefore this product is suitable for minor repairs of objects and household items. The expiry date of the glue is indicated on the packaging.However, it is recommended to use the polymer composition within two years.
Among the advantages of Dragon glue, consumers highlight an affordable price. This material is significantly cheaper than other similar polymer compositions.
Features
Polymer glue is a colorless liquid with a uniform texture and a characteristic smell. The material is based on high quality synthetic resin diluted with organic compounds.
Due to this composition, Dragon glue has the following characteristics:
- elastic;
- creates a strong seam;
- incombustible;
- moisture resistant;
- suitable for use over a wide temperature range.
Due to its increased elasticity, Dragon is able to adhere to materials even on an uneven (rough) surface. This material is used in bathrooms and kitchens. When working with universal polymer glue, it is recommended to heat the joint created. This effect increases the resistance of the hitch. In cold weather, the properties of the glue do not change after hardening. However, for the material to dry completely, the ambient temperature must be above zero degrees. In this case, the glue creates a reliable bond in 15-20 minutes.
Another important property of Dragon is that this material is heat resistant. That is, direct exposure to fire does not ignite the polymer.
Glue consumption varies within a fairly wide range. Processing one square meter may require from 10 to 500 grams of polymer material. This indicator directly depends on the type of surface on which the composition is applied. The maximum amount of glue is consumed when objects with a rough surface are connected.
Manual
Despite the universal properties of this product and ease of use, it is necessary to use Dragon glue strictly following the manufacturer's instructions. Before starting work, the composition must be mixed with denatured alcohol. It is recommended to take the latter from the same manufacturer that released Dragon. It is necessary to mix the two compositions until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
Prepare the surface before applying the glue. To do this, you need to remove from processed materials:
- plaster;
- Paint;
- varnish and other particles.
If possible, it is recommended to level the surface, eliminating all defects and roughness. Also, before starting work, you need to degrease the materials. To do this, use gasoline or pure alcohol. Finally, you need to dry the surface. Due to humidity, the glue dries longer and the connection is weaker. Then Dragon can be applied to the prepared surface. If rough or uneven substrates are treated with this composition, the procedure will have to be repeated one or more times.
After applying the polymer composition, both parts should be pressed firmly and held for at least 20 seconds. During this period, the glue will have time to cling. But for the hardening of the created connection, it will take at least 20 minutes. Ideally, the surfaces to be bonded are left in a warm room for one hour.
Precautionary measures
The components included in Dragon have a negative effect on human health. When working with polymer materials (especially in cases where interior decoration is in progress), it is recommended to wear a respirator and gloves. In case of prolonged inhalation of the vapors created by the glue, dysfunction of the central nervous system or kidneys is possible.Poisoning of the organism, characterized by attacks of nausea and headaches, is also possible.
When working with polymeric materials, contact of the adhesive with the skin should be avoided. This product rarely causes allergic reactions. But such cases cannot be excluded. If the glue gets on the mucous membranes, they must be immediately rinsed with plenty of water. After completing the installation or repair work, the rollers should be cleaned with solvent or acetone. Hands can be washed with plain soap under running water.
Additional tips and tricks
There are frequent cases when, due to improper storage, the polymer composition has thickened. To dilute the glue, you need to add alcohol or another substance on the same basis to the material. It is recommended to use a similar tool to remove the polymer solution from clothes, shoes and other surfaces. This procedure must be carried out immediately, without waiting for the resin to dry.
Despite the fact that Dragon is one of the universal polymer adhesives, it is recommended to use highly specialized products containing acrylic components when working with flooring. Such solutions provide high-quality adhesion of parquet, laminate or fiber to a concrete or other base.
Dragon has a proven track record when installing insulation such as mineral wool or foam. It is also suitable for gluing tiles to walls or floors. However, it is recommended to use polymer glues in powder form to fix the wallpaper. A product based on modified starch, which does not form lumps when diluting, is considered optimal for such cases.
